After first Tokyo medal, Canadians heap praise on women's 4x100 relay team

Penny Oleksiak, Kayla Sanchez, Margaret Mac Neil and Rebecca Smith earned silver at the Tokyo Olympics, picking up Canada's first medal of the games.

Canada captured its first medal of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Sunday, earning silver in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay.

Canadians were quick to heap praise after Penny Oleksiak, Kayla Sanchez, Margaret Mac Neil and Rebecca Smith secured the spot on the podium.

I once asked Jamie Oleksiak how big a deal his sister Penny Oleksiak is in Canada. He noted she won the 2016 Lou Marsh Award as Canada's athlete of the year. Basically, Canada's Heisman Trophy.

He said, "She beat *that* guy," while pointing to Sidney Crosby 15 feet away.
