American Shaun White will be leaving his final Olympic Games without a medal.
The veteran snowboarder finished fourth in men’s halfpipe, missing the podium by 2.25 points in his fifth Olympic Games.
White was sitting in the silver medal position after the second of three runs with a score of 85, but he fell on his final attempt. In halfpipe, each snowboarder gets three runs down the course with their best score counting in the overall standings.

White was visibly emotional on the course after his final run and received a standing ovation from those in attendance, including his fellow competitors.
White, 35, announced last week that the Beijing Olympics would be his final competition before he retired. He is a three-time gold medalist in the halfpipe and was the reigning champion from 2018.
Ayumu Hirano of Japan took the gold with a score of 96 on his final run. Scott James of Australia won the silver with a score of 92.5 and Jan Scherrer of Austria took home the bronze with a score of 87.25.
