NOTTWIL, Switzerland — Wheelchair racer Brent Lakatos captured two more gold medals on Friday at the Nottwill Grand Prix Para athletics competition.
The Dorval, Que., native was first in the T53-54 disability category 200- and 800-metre races.
Lakatos came within 0.28 seconds of his 25.04 second world record mark in the 200. Lei Song of China was second in 24.81 and Yassine Gharbi of Tunisia third in 24.87.
The 37-year-old Lakatos won the 800 in one minute 32.75 seconds. Yong Zhang of China took silver in 1:33.76 and Marcel Hug of Switzerland was third in 1:33.86.
Lakatos bettered his world record in the T53 category 100-metre competition last week.
Jessica Frotten of Whitehorse was third in the women’s T53-54 200-metre race.
