Canada’s Benfeito, Filion win bronze in women’s synchronized diving

Canadian women’s synchronized 10m platform diving pair, Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion, finished with a total score of 336.18 to win a bronze medal at the Rio Games on Tuesday.

Canada has racked up another medal at the Rio Olympics.

The women’s synchronized 10m platform diving pair, Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion, finished with a total score of 336.18 to win a bronze medal.

Benfeito, 27 and Filion, 29, opened the fifth round in fifth place but rallied back to move into bronze medal position after scoring an 80.64 on their final dive.

The Laval, Que., tandem won bronze in the 10m synchro event at London 2012, finishing behind pairs from Mexico and China.

China’s team, Ruolin Chen and Huixia Liu, finished first (total score of 354) to win the event in Rio.
