Canadian diver Meaghan Benfeito wins second bronze at Rio 2016

Meaghan Benfeito, a bronze medallist at the Rio Games in women's synchronized 10m platform diving, joined Andrew Walker to talk about the joys of being an Olympian and representing your country.

Meaghan Benfeito won bronze in the women’s 10-metre platform diving competition at Rio 2016 Thursday.

It’s the Canadian’s second medal of the Games. She won bronze in the women’s 10-metre synchronized platform event with her partner Roseline Filion last week. The Laval, Que., pair also won bronze in that event at London 2012.

Benfeito finished with a total score of 389.20. Filion was also in the final Thursday but missed the podium with a score of 367.95.

China’s Qian Ren and Yajie Si were well ahead of the pack, winning gold and silver, respectively.
