OTTAWA — Paralympian Earle Connor was suspended from competition for four years by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport on Thursday for an anti-doping rule violation.
The athlete’s urine samples, collected during out-of-competition doping control on April 15, 2015 and on May 28, 2015, revealed the presence of nandrolone, an anabolic steroid with tissue-building properties.
Connor requested a hearing but did not engage in the hearing process. An arbitrator confirmed the violation and imposed a sanction of four years ineligibility from sport, ending on July 29, 2019.
Connor is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport participating in the Canadian Anti-Doping Program, including training with teammates.
The Calgary resident won gold in the men’s T42 100-metre event at the 2000 Paralympics and repeated at the 2008 Games. He set world records in the 60-metre race in 2006 and the 100 metres in 2008.
