Canadians Bingham, Emmanuel fail to qualify for women’s 100m final

Canada will not have a representative in the women’s 100-metre final race in Tokyo.

Khamica Bingham and Crystal Emmanuel were unable to qualify out of the semis on Saturday, as Jamaican runners dominated the event.

Bingham posted the fifth time in Heat 1 with 11.22 while Emmanuel finished sixth in Heat 2 with 11.21.

The final race of the women’s 100-metre was scheduled for later on Saturday.

Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had the best semifinal time, with 10.73.
