The Fiji men’s rugby sevens team made history at Rio 2016 winning their country’s first ever medal at the Olympics. The sevens squad demolished Great Britain 41-7 to win gold for the island country.

The country has just over 900,000 people, and in a bit of irony, gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1970.
