One day before the opening ceremony, we get more sports action at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
The start of the women’s soccer tournament highlights the day, while individual competition begins with the ranking round in archery.
Thursday also marks the start of Canadian participation in the Games with archers Eric Peters and Virginie Chénier in action before the women’s soccer team, in the midst of a drone scandal, faces New Zealand at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT.
While the men’s soccer tournament is an under-23 event with three overagers allowed on each team, the women’s event features many of the best players in the world.
