Ryan Reynolds is showing his support for Manchester United’s Nathan Bishop.
The Canadian actor and co-owner of Wrexham AFC reached out to the 23-year-old goalkeeper after an incident that left Wrexham striker Paul Mullin hospitalized, according to ESPN sources.
Bishop collided with the Wrexham striker during a pre-season match on Tuesday. Mullin suffered a punctured lung and needed an oxygen tank to leave the field. He's expected to miss the start of the new season.
Following comments made by Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson, calling the collision "reckless" and "clumsy," Reynolds stepped in to commend Bishop for the way he handled the situation and wished him luck in the future.
Bishop tweeted an apology and directly reached out to Mullin after the match.
