The PWHL is already breaking its own records.
On Saturday, just one week since the league's inaugural game, Montreal vs. Minnesota set a world record as the most-attended professional women's hockey game, with 13,316 fans at Xcel Energy Center.
This surpassed last week's record when 8,318 fans filled TD Place for PWHL Montreal vs. Ottawa.
The previous record was the CWHL's All-Star game, which drew 8,122 spectators in Toronto in 2017, as well as 7,765 fans who attended the final of the 2021/22 Swedish Women's Hockey League.
With multiple PWHL arenas capable of holding over 10,000 people, attendance records could be a trend this season.
