The wait is finally over.
All six PWHL teams officially unveiled their nicknames and logos on Monday, ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 season.
The inaugural six teams, previously known only by their city or state names in the league's first season, have been rebranded as the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Victoire de Montréal, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres.
As expected with an announcement such as this, there were mixed reactions. While some fans expressed excitement over the names and logos, others were disappointed by the reveal.
However, the general consensus was that the PWHL took another step forward by finally introducing unique identities and branding for its six teams. And, as one X user pointed out, debating new team names and logos is essentially a rite of passage in the sports world.
Here is a sampling of those reactions from X.
