Is there anything better to ring in the new year than some new threads?
After deciding on names and logos for each of the league's six inaugural teams in early September, the PWHL is taking their rebrand to the next level and teasing new-look jerseys ahead of the 2024-25 season.
On Wednesday, the league shared some zoomed-in images hinting at the new threads. It also hinted that there may be a more formal announcement on Thursday, Nov. 7.
For their inaugural season, the original six teams sported more generic names and didn't have logos, simply donning jerseys with the name of the city they represented on the front.
With the recent inclusion of proper team names and logos comes the possibility of changing the jerseys and making them more suited to each team's individual identity.
In September, PWHL senior vice president of business operations Amy Scheer said that the jersey launch would be coming sometime "either at the end of October, beginning of November."
Scheer added that fans will immediately be able to buy replica jerseys when they're released and will be able to add player names to them. However, she added that they are unlikely to have authentic jerseys available until Year three of the league.
The league partnered with Bauer hockey to make and supply the new jerseys.
The 2024-25 PWHL season will begin on Nov. 30, as the Toronto Sceptres play host to the Boston Fleet.
