PWHL New York has signed goaltender Kayle Osborne to a three-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Osborne was picked in the fifth round, 28th overall, by New York during the PWHL Draft in June.
“We’re thrilled to confirm our long-term agreement with Kayle as she joins an excellent goaltending duo, bringing quality and stability to the team and our fans for the coming seasons at this key position,” PWHL New York general manager Pascal Daoust said in a release. “While playing a technical game, Kayle is especially explosive and powerful, making her a goaltender who consistently battles and competes for pucks, even the ones that seem impossible to stop. Around her net, she excels at playing the puck, giving the team the advantage of an extra player on the ice.”
Osborne played four seasons at Colgate University in the NCAA. The 22-year-old from Ottawa posted a 61-20-4 record, 1.64 goals-against average and .927 save percentage over 92 games.
Osborne earned a gold medal with Team Ontario at the under-18 women’s national championship gold medal and silver with Team Canada at the 2020 IIHF under-18 women’s world championship.
