The Professional Women’s Hockey League announced the long-awaited names and logos for its six original teams on Monday ahead of its second season this winter.
The names are Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Victoire de Montreal, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres.
Following the announcement, members of the league and teams will speak to the media about the decisions that led to the final products and the general excitement for the new season.
The press conference will begin with PWHL senior vice president of business operations Amy Scheer and PWHL vice president of brand and marketing Kanan Bhatt-Shah. They will be followed by team captains Brianne Jenner (Ottawa), Marie-Philip Poulin (Montreal), Blayre Turnbull (Toronto), Kendall Coyne Schofield (Minnesota), Hilary Knight (Boston) and Micah Zandee-Hart (New York).
