NTT IndyCar Series:
Last Race: Saturday May 13th: Grand Prix of Indianapolis: IMS Road Course: Alex Palou and his Ganassi Racing squad went with an aggressive tire plan at the start of the race on the faster alternates. The field spent most of the day trying to catch him! Palou went from 3rd to the lead on the opening lap, passing pole-sitter Christian Lundgaard in Turn 12. Palou controlled it from there leading a race-high 51 laps. including the final 21 circuits for his first win of the season, 5th of his career, all on road courses! Pato O’Ward finished 2nd, Alex Rossi 3rd. Canada’s Devlin DeFrancesco wound up 17th.
IndyCar Points into The Indianapolis 500: Alex Palou now assumes the IndyCar points lead by 6 over Pato O’Ward into the 107th Indianapolis 500 on the 28th.

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series:
Last Race: Sunday May 14th: Darlington, South Carolina: William Bryon out-fought Kevin Harvick on an overtime restart for his 3rd win of the season, 7th of his career. Byron took full advantage in a crash filled affair. The gap opened when Ross Chastian and Kyle Larson wrecked in front of him with 6 to go battling for the lead! Harvick finished 2nd, Chase Elliott was 3rd at Darlington.

Formula One World Driving Championship:
Last Grand Prix: Sunday May 7th: The Grand Prix of Miami, Florida:
Another Red Bull show for another 1-2 finish. Max Verstappen came from 9th to 2nd in only 16 laps to catch pole sitter team mate Sergio Perez. Max pitted late on lap 45 putting Checo in front, but with 10 to go Verstappen overhauled Perez to re-take the lead for his 3rd win of the season. Perez 2nd, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso started on the front row and hung tough for 3rd. George Russell 4th for Mercedes, Carlos Sainz 5th for Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton 6th after starting this one well back in 13th.
Canadians: Lance Stroll started 18th but wound up 12th, out of the points after scoring in 3 of the first 5 GP’s.
Points: Verstappen leads Perez by 14 in Drivers, Red Bull leads Aston Martin by 93 in Constructors.

Last Race: Sunday May 7th: Kansas City, Kansas:
Denny Hamlin bumped Kyle Larson out of the lead on the backstretch of the final lap giving him a clear path to the finish line, ending his 33-race winless drought. Hamlin went to the front on the record 38th lead change of a chaotic race at KC for the 400th win for Joe Gibbs Racing. Larson finished 2nd, William Byron 3rd.

Last Race: Sunday April 30th: Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama:
Kiwi Scott McLaughlin over-hauled race dominator Romain Grosjean in turn 5 with 19 laps to go to score his first win of the season, 4th of his career, and 2nd of the campaign for Penske Racing! He becomes the 4th different IndyCar winner this young season. Former F-1 pilot Grosjean wound up 2nd after leading well over half of the contest, still trying to find his first career IndyCar win. Penske’s Will Power 3rd. Canada’s Devlin DeFrancesco: 23rd.
IndyCar Points into Indianapolis (RC): Marcus Ericsson leads Pato O’Ward by only 3.

Canada’s Pfaff Motorsports, Pilet and Bachler, 3rd in the Plaid Porsche. Sellers & Snow won GTD in the Miller BMW. Canada’s Thomas Nepveu 12th behind winner Riley Dickinson in Porsche Carrera Cup at LB.

Last Rally: Feb. 3rd-4th: Rallye Perce Neige in Maniwaki, Quebec:
Frigid minus 34 temperatures on snow covered stages with big plow banks on the shoulders!
Winners: First national win for Quebec’s Alex Moreau and Ian Guite in their Subaru WRX STi, by 2 minutes over Jean-Sebastien Besner and Yvan Joyal in their Mitsubishi Lancer. Matt Leblanc and Eric Dube in their Honda Civic holding off Chris Greenhouse and Ryan Scott in their Dodge Neon, taking two-wheel drive by just one-tenth of a second!

Toyota’s Elfyn Evans won his first WRC go in almost 2 years! With co-driver Scott Martin, they were 27 seconds quicker than M-Sport’s Ott Tanek on the asphalt stages.
