Formula One World Driving Championship:
Last GP: The U.S Grand Prix at COTA, Texas: Max Verstappen started 6th on the grid, but by lap 40 of 56, he took over the lead and was able to shake off balky brakes to secure his 15th win of the season, the 50th of his career. Lewis Hamilton and Charles LeClerc were disqualified for excessive floor skid-block wear. The purpose of this 'skid block' is to ensure that all cars are following ride height regulations. If the wooden plank has been worn down by more than a millimeter at the end of a race, that car is DQ’d. So the new finish: Verstappen, Norris, Sainz, Perez and Russell. Verstappen also won the sprint race earlier in the weekend.
Canada’s Lance Stroll: started from the pit-lane after work done after qualifying, but arrived 7th in Texas and in the points. His best finish since the summer break for Aston Martin.
