Canada midfielder Stephen Eustaquio remains questionable for the Canadian men’s national team ahead of their World Cup qualifier against the United States on Sunday.
Eustaquio, who is recovering from COVID-19, did not feature in the victory over Honduras as he remained in Portugal after completing his loan move to Porto.
But there is hope that Eustaquio could be available for selection.
“We are hoping to see him join the squad hopefully tonight or tomorrow,” said Canada coach John Herdman during his pre-match press conference on Saturday. “The roster at this stage, it’s still a work in progress.”

Midfielder Samuel Piette, who started in Eustaquio’s place for Thursday’s win, is nursing an ankle injury and will undergo a fitness test on Sunday to determine his status for the U.S. game.
Canada is currently atop the table in Concacaf World Cup qualifying, one point above the second-place U.S.
