Report: Bournemouth forward Daniel Jebbison joining Canada

A promising young forward in the Premier League is reportedly joining the Canadian men's national team.

AFC Bournemouth's Daniel Jebbison has agreed to use his one-time transfer to switch from England to Canada, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reported Monday.

Jebbison, 21, was born in Oakville, Ont., but is eligible to represent England and Jamaica through his parents. He last represented England at the under-20 World Cup in 2023.

Jebbison has made 12 appearances off the bench for Bournemouth this year across all competitions and scored two goals in the FA Cup. He made his Premier League debut with Sheffield United in 2021 and has also played for Championship side Watford.

Kloke reported that Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David and Alistair Johnston helped coach Jesse March in his recruitment of Jebbison by appearing in a video. The lure of playing in the World Cup in 2026 — which Canada is co-hosting — also factored into the decision.

John Herdman and other Canadian coaches had reportedly attempted to recruit Jebbison.

The addition of Jebbison comes as Marsch pushes to recruit more dual nationals to play for Canada. As Kloke reports, Croatian-Canadian midfielder Niko Sigur was brought into the fold back in August, and Nigerian-Canadian forward Promise David also committed.
