Chelsea will appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, according to football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The club has burned through three managers this season — Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and then Bruno Saltor — before handing the reins to former player Frank Lampard.
The Argentine has been out of of job since being fired by Paris Saint-Germain last July, having posted a 55-25-14 win-draw-loss record in a year and a half in charge of the French club. Prior to that, the 51-year-old spent five and a half years with London club Tottenham, where the Spurs went 159-62-72.
Now, Pochettino will be in charge of a London rival that has struggled since being purchased by a new ownership group, led by American Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter, and Hansjörg Wyss a year ago. The Blue are 11-10-14 in the Premier League this season, good for only 11th spot and out of Champions League qualification.
