As Manchester United moves forward with their search for a new striker, the club is not planning on making a push for Harry Kane.
Jamie Jackson and Jacob Steinberg from The Guardian report that the money it will take to get the England striker to Old Trafford was not going to be realistic with other moves on their radar.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano also reports that Manchester United didn't believe Tottenham wanted to sell the star striker to them and had no desire to go into a prolonged negotiation over the summer transfer window.
Romano lists Atalanta's Rasmus Højlund and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani as potential targets.
United manager Erik ten Hag was highly complimentary of Kane saying he was a "great player and great personality" once reports surfaced of his club's interest.
The last time United bought a player from Tottenham was back in 2008 when they signed Dimitar Berbatov on transfer deadline day.
This is not the first time Kane's name has been rumoured on the transfer market.
Kane's career is at a crossroads as he approaches the final year of his contract at Tottenham. Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, is hoping to extend Kane's contract and avoid losing the striker for free next summer.
Real Madrid has also reportedly expressed interest in Kane, but with Kylian Mbappé potentially available, they could pivot their interest.
