Toronto Metropolitan University has given the green light for its previously suspended men’s varsity soccer team to play its home opener this weekend.

But the school said, through a spokesperson to Sportsnet, that an independent investigation into allegations, which it did not specify, will continue.

“The university continues to assess and address the situation as appropriate,” the spokesperson wrote in the statement. “Any measures will remain confidential.”

The Bold are scheduled to play Nipissing at Downsview Park on Saturday.

Last week, the school issued a statement saying it was opening an investigation into allegations surrounding “serious and concerning behaviour.” The school issued a statement saying it had received a report about the unspecified conduct and the team would be suspended until “further notice.”

The team forfeited games against Laurentian on Saturday and Nipissing on Sunday.

A spokesperson at the time said the school “cannot confirm any other details, including the nature of the allegations, as an investigation is underway.”
