At just 35 years old, Lionel Messi is having his best World Cup — and he appears to only be getting better as the tournament chugs along.
In Tuesday's 3-0 semifinal win against Croatia, Messi opened the scoring from the penalty spot, smashing a shot over 'keeper Dominik Livakovic. The goal was his fifth of the tournament to tie French star Kylian Mbappe, and his 11th World Cup goal all-time to become Argentina's leading scorer.
Then, after Argentina doubled the score, Messi gathered the ball on the right side of the pitch, blistered down the right side, and after toying with star Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol, deked his way into the box and laid a pass to Julian Alvarez for goal.
Is there a debate over who's the greatest of all time? Social media didn't seem to think so.
