WARSAW, Poland — Russia coach Dick Advocaat says midfielder Aleksandr Kokorin has injured a hamstring and will miss the rest of the European Championship.
The 21-year-old Dynamo Moscow player picked up the injury in training Thursday and sat in a tracksuit watching the other players train on Friday.
Kokorin played for just six minutes at Euro 2012. He came on as a late substitute for Alan Dzagoev in Russia’s 4-1 defeat of the Czech Republic in their opening Group A match in Wroclaw.
Advocaat also said that veteran midfielder Konstantin Zyryanov was unwell Friday. It was unclear if he would be fit for Saturday’s decisive group match against Greece.
