ROME — Serbia forward Adem Ljajic has signed a four-year deal with Roma after joining from Fiorentina for 11 million euros ($14.5 million).

Roma announced the move Wednesday, adding that the transfer fee could reach 15 million euros ($20 million) with bonuses.

Simultaneously, Roma announced that it had agreed to sell forward Erik Lamela to Tottenham for 30 million euros ($40 million).

The 21-year-old Ljajic joined Fiorentina in January 2010 and scored 15 goals in 78 Serie A appearances for the Tuscan club.

In May 2012, Ljajic sarcastically applauded coach Delio Rossi for substituting him and Rossi punched him. Rossi was then fired.

Fiorentina signed 19-year-old Croatian forward Ante Rebic from RNK Split as a replacement for Ljajic.

Both Roma and Fiorentina won their Serie A openers last weekend.
