PORTO SEGURO, Brazil — Germany will travel to Israel for a friendly on March 25 to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

German Football Federation president Wolfgang Niersbach says the match is “another signal for the close ties” between Israel and Germany.

Germany will travel straight from Israel to Georgia for a Euro 2016 qualifying match on March 29.

The match in Israel will be played either in Jerusalem or Haifa.

Germany has played twice before in Israel, winning both matches. Israel visited Germany twice and lost both times.
