Pele has spoken, but is he right?
The great one caused a bit of a stir Wednesday when he said the Lionel Messi isn’t the best player in the world today. Pele, a three-time World Cup winner went on to say that FC Barcelona’s Argentine star isn’t as good as Brazilian striker Neymar, who plays for Santos in Pele’s native Brazil.
"There’s always this Maradona comparison, saying that he’s better than Pele. Now some are saying that Messi is better than Pele. Well, he has to be better than Neymar first, which he isn’t yet," Pele said.
Neymar, 20, is considered as Brazil’s greatest player at the moment, while Messi is the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year.
