SEVILLE, Spain — Sevilla says goalkeeper Antonio "Beto" Bastos will be sidelined for two to three months after injuring his shoulder.

The Portugal international dislocated his left shoulder when he collided with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema during the first half of Wednesday’s Spanish league match. Beto had to be carried off. Madrid went on to win 2-1.

Sevilla says in a statement that its medical staff is "still studying (the injury), although it is likely the injury will require surgery, and, consequently, around 10 weeks of recovery."

Beto will be replaced by 21-year-old Sergio Rico.

Sevilla is in fourth place in the league and has reached the knock out rounds of the Europa League.
