Toronto FC striker Sebastian Giovinco has been fined an undisclosed amount by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.

Giovinco is being penalized for “failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner during the 90th minute of Toronto’s match against the New England Revolution.” MLS wrote in a statement.

The 31-year-old was given a red card after scoring in the 89th minute of TFC’s 3-2 loss against the Revolution for putting his hands in the face of Wilfried Zahilbo.

It was Giovinco’s first red card in his career with TFC and as a result, he will miss Friday’s match against Orlando City SC.
