TORONTO — York 9 FC has confirmed it will play its inaugural Canadian Premier League season at York Lions Stadium.

The club says the north end of the York University venue will feature a multi-tiered "safe standing area to create a true football atmosphere for the club’s loudest supporters."

The team will play on natural grass in 2018. The stadium is being converted to artificial turf after the CPL season.

York 9 kicks off its season April 27 in Hamilton against Forge FC. Its first home game is a Canadian Championship date with Quebec’s AS Blainville on May 22.

The club will host Forge FC in its CPL home opener May 25.
