Former Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic is nearing a return to the ATP circuit following two injury-laden years.
The Canadian has entered himself into the ATP 250 event in 's-Hertogenbosch which takes place in June, right after the conclusion of the clay season with Roland Garros.
Raonic last played competitive top-tier tennis in 2021 at the Atlanta Open, where he crashed out in his opening match to Brandon Nakashima as the top seed of the tournament, having made a comeback after a three-month injury absence due to a thigh niggle.
The 32-year-old has been plagued with more injury problems since then, from an Achilles issue to a broken toe.
Raonic's coach Mario Tudor had confirmed in December last year that the former World No. 3 planned to return to the tour, saying his protégé could return to action by early 2023.
It remains to be seen if Raonic does abide by this timeline and indeed make his come back at the Libema Open to start off the grass court season. If so, it would be his first match on the surface since Wimbledon in 2019.
Other top players set to compete at the event in the Netherlands include World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev and Raonic's compatriot — World No. 10 Felix Auger-Aliassime — among others.
