Aleksandra Wozniak defeated Alexandra Cadantu 6-7(2), 6-0, 6-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the Budapest Grand Prix on Wednesday.
Wozniak, from Blainville, Que., went on a roll after narrowly losing the first set, winning 12 straight games to take the second and third sets.
It’s the first time the 24-year-old has reached the quarter-finals of a WTA event since the Ponte Vedra Beach tournament in 2010.
Wozniak will now face Anna Tatishvili of Georgia for a spot in the semifinals.
