Andreescu’s rise has been well-documented after winning the Rogers Cup and remaining undefeated against top-10 players in 2019.
She’ll now move to No. 5 on the WTA rankings, joining fellow Canadian Eugenie Bouchard, who became the highest-ranked Canadian woman back in 2014. Not too bad for someone who was ranked 243rd just last year.

Two years ago at this time, all Bianca Andreescu wanted was to make enough money in tennis so that her parents could travel with her.
She just became the first Canadian woman to ever win the US Open finals.
