Tony Finau signs one-match TGL contract with Los Angeles Golf Club

Here comes a new challenger: Tony Finau has signed a one-match contract to join Los Angeles Golf Club for their TGL match Monday against New York Golf Club.

TGL announced the signing Friday as LAGC's Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood are both unable to compete due to prior commitments.

The 35-year-old Finau, ranked 26th in the world, will team up with Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala.

Los Angeles sits second in the standings with two wins and one overtime loss.

New York, which includes Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele and Cameron Young, is fourth with one win and two losses.

The virtual golf league is a multi-team competition with all matches played live at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The inaugural TGL regular season runs through to March 4 with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals followed by a best-of-three finals series to crown the champion.

Watch Los Angeles Golf Club take on New York Golf Club live Monday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
