It might be later than many hoped, but fans will still get the chance to take in a much-anticipated fight between Aljamain Sterling and Movsar Evloev.
After their upcoming featherweight bout at UFC 307 was cancelled due to an injury to Sterling, UFC has announced that rather than an outright cancellation, the matchup will instead take place at UFC 310 in Las Vegas.
The fight at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City was originally taken off the card on Sept. 18 after it was announced that Sterling had sustained an injury in training and was taking time off to get stem cell treatment and begin rehab.
Sterling, 35, is the former bantamweight champion and recently moved up to featherweight following a loss to Sean O'Malley in a title fight at UFC 292. His most recent fight was at UFC 300 in April, where he came out on top against Calvin Kattar.
He's currently the ninth-ranked fighter in the 145-pound division.
Evloev, meanwhile, is enjoying a meteoric rise up the featherweight rankings, carrying an 18-0-0 record in pro-MMA and a spotless 8-0 record since joining UFC.
His last fight came at UFC 297 in January where he dominated Arnold Allen to earn the unanimous decision win. He's currently the sixth-ranked featherweight and has already notched a win over the third-ranked Diego Lopes.
