One of the most decorated fighters in UFC history will add another accolade to his long list of accomplishments.
The promotion announced during the UFC 286 pay-per-view that Anderson Silva will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Wing.
Anderson will be inducted alongside fellow 2023 inductees Jens Pulver and Jose Aldo during International Fight Week which will be held from July 3-9 in Las Vegas.
"Anderson Silva is one of the greatest athletes of all time," UFC president Dana White said. "Anderson's 16-fight winning streak in the UFC, 10 successful title defenses and almost seven years as middleweight champion were one of the most remarkable things we've ever seen in professional sports. He was an absolute artist inside the Octagon, and it will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer."
Known during his time in the UFC as "The Spider," Silva remains in the record books with the longest winning streak (16), longest title reign (2,457 days), most middleweight knockdowns (13) and is tied for most knockouts at 185 pounds (8).
He made his UFC debut in 2006 with a knockout decision over Chris Leben in just 49 seconds. At the prime of his career, Silva earned big-time decisions over top fighters like Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Chael Sonnen, and Vitor Belfort while competing at 185 and 205 pounds.
Silva retired from mixed-martial arts in 2020 at age 47.
