A matchup between a pair of former title challengers has been added to December’s UFC 310 with Anthony Smith vs. Dominick Reyes on tap for the organization’s final pay-per-view event of the year.
The UFC announced over the weekend the pair of 205-pounders will meet Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Smith has not strung together consecutive wins since 2021. He is coming off a unanimous decision loss in June to Roman Dolidze, a middleweight who took that fight up a weight class and on short notice.
The 36-year-old has gone 6-6 since his 2019 unanimous decision title fight loss to former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 235.
Reyes, 34, snapped a four-fight losing streak with a highlight knockout win over Dustin Jacoby in June in his first fight in nearly two years. He lost a tightly contested decision to Jones at UFC 247 then was knocked out in three consecutive bouts by Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka and Ryan Spann.
It is unclear whether this bout will take place on the preliminary or main card.
The organization has not yet announced a main event for UFC 310.
