Chris Weidman was stretchered out of UFC 261 Saturday after suffering a gruesome leg injury.
Mere seconds into his bout with Uriah Hall, Weidman landed a kick on Hall’s thigh.
Weidman’s leg immediately reacted to the contact, appearing to convulse before buckling beneath him when he planted his foot on the octagon again. Weidman was in visible, extreme distress and required a stretcher to leave the ring.
“I hope he’s okay,” Hall said after the fight, which was ruled a TKO in his favour. “I wish his family well if you guys are watching.”
Video showed Weidman raising his fist, an apparent salute to the crowd, on his way out.
Can't keep a champion down.
