Conor McGregor's return to the Octagon will have to wait.
UFC president Dana White said Tuesday that McGregor will not fight in 2024, according to Sportsnet's Aaron Bronsteter.
McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June but had to pull out after injuring his toe during training.
Last month, McGregor suggested on social media that the match will be rescheduled in 2024, but it does not appear that is still the case.
McGregor, 35, has not fought since he broke his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July of 2021.
The former two-weight champion issued a response on X shortly after White's comments, but later deleted it.
It read: "Ah Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event! Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. DECEMBER! Tell Dana and UFC WE WANT DECEMBER! WE DESERVE DECEMBER!"
