If a card headlined by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler wasn't enough to excite fight fans for UFC 303, the promotion has added another blockbuster matchup.
Ian Garry will take on Michael Page as part of the event set to take place on June 29 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Dana White announced on Friday.
Garry enters the contest coming off a split-decision win over Geoff Neal at UFC 298 earlier in February. The No. 7 ranked welterweight kept his undefeated UFC streak (7-0) going with the win and is now 14-0 as a pro in MMA.
Meanwhile, Page, a veteran mixed martial artist of nearly a decade, is coming of a UFC debut win at UFC 299 in March. The unanimous decision victory over Kevin Holland immediately vaulted "MVP" into the division contender status, placing him at No. 13 on the leaderboard.
UFC 303 is already anticipated to be the largest live gate in the promotion's history given the long-anticipated return of McGregor.
Now when the Irishman steps into the octagon for the star-studded affair, following his near three-year hiatus, he'll have fellow countryman Garry along for the journey.
The news from Dana White came a day after they announced a new opponent for Jamahal Hill in the card's co-main event. The former light heavyweight champion will take on Carlos Ulberg, the No. 11 contender after Khalil Rountree dropped out due to a violation of the UFC's substance policy.
