One of the world's greatest fighters will be immortalized in the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was announced during Saturday's UFC 272 event as part of this year's class to be inducted later this year.

Nurmagomedov retired with an undefeated 29-0 record in 2021 and was the lightweight division champion for nearly three years, a record. Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje were just some of the challengers who lost to Nurmagomedov over his career.

The 33-year-old was in attendance Saturday, watching his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov win his bout against Brian Kelleher in a first-round submission.
