A fan-friendly style matchup between 205-pounders Modestas Bukauskas and Ion Cutelaba has been added to the upcoming UFC 315 in Montreal.
The organization announced Monday the pair will meet in a light-heavyweight contest at the May 10 event at the Bell Centre.
Both fighters recently competed on the UFC Seattle card in late February where they both earned first-round victories at the finish-filled event.
Cutelaba submitted Ibo Aslan with an arm-triangle choke after a couple minutes of throwing haymakers. The 31-year-old from Moldova has an aggressive fighting style and has won three of his past four bouts since the start of 2023.
Bukauskas, also 31, picked a highlight-reel knockout of Raffael Cerqueira earlier in the night. The Lithuanian-born fighter who trains in London improved to 4-1 during his current UFC tenure. Bukauskas had a 1-3 run in the UFC in 2020-2021 before he was released.
After a pair of wins in England’s Cage Warriors promotion, including a light-heavyweight title fight victory, Bukauskas got a second shot in the UFC, where he has wins over Tyson Pedro, Zac Pauga and Marcin Prachnio, with his lone setback being to Vitor Petrino in 2023.
UFC 315 is scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Belal Muhammad and No. 4 contender Jack Della Maddalena, with a co-main event featuring women’s flyweight champion Valentina Schevchenko looking to defend her belt against No. 2-ranked Manon Fiorot. Other bouts scheduled for UFC 315, which is the first UFC event in Montreal in a decade, are:
-- Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi
-- Jessica Andrade vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius
-- Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales
-- Mike Malott vs. Charles Radtke
-- Alexa Grasso vs. Natalia Silva
-- Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Bruno Silva
-- Brad Katona vs. Bekzat Almakhan
-- Navajo Stirling vs. Ivan Erslan
