Complete UFC 299 results: Poirier, Della Maddalena get huge knockout wins

UFC 299 in Miami lived up to the hype as Sean O'Malley successfully defended his bantamweight belt for the first time during his title reign, exacting revenge against Marlon Vera along the way.

Meanwhile, the rest of the card featured plenty of action like knockouts by veteran Dustin Poirier and rising star Jack Della Maddalena, along with UFC fans getting their first look at show-stoppers Michael Page and Robelis Despaigne.

Sean O'Malley (bantamweight champion) defeats Marlon Vera via Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-44)
Vera made the championship rounds interesting, but ultimately O'Malley's constant pressure and precision striking were too much as the bantamweight champion successfully defended the belt for the first time in his career and avenged his lone UFC loss.

Dustin Poirier defeats Benoit Saint-Denis via KO 2:32 in Round 2
Poirier proved why he's the No. 3 ranked lightweight in the UFC and is now tied for the third-most wins in UFC history (22), as he dismantled the rising Saint-Denis with a lethal combination of punches.

Michael Page defeats Kevin Holland via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Page showed out in his long-anticipated UFC debut, using his unorthodox striking style and consistent offence to frustrate the welterweight veteran Holland en route to victory.

Jack Della Maddalena defeats Gilbert Burns via KO 3:43 in Round 3

Della Maddalena stays unbeaten in the UFC (7-0), stunning Burns with a knee before finishing the job on the ground and cementing his championship contender status in the welterweight division.

Petr Yan defeats Song Yadong via Unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

The former bantamweight champion, Yan ended his three-fight losing streak in style, winning exchanges both on the ground and standing up in order to beat the No. 7 fighter in the division.

Curtis Blaydes defeats Jailton Almeida via TKO 0:37 in Round 2

Despite nearly a year-long layoff, Blaydes looked sharp, countering an Almeida takedown attempt with a flurry of hammer fists and ending the Brazilian heavyweight's 15-fight win streak (6-1 in UFC) in the victory.

Maycee Barber defeats Katlyn Cerminara via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Barber took the fight to the ground (four takedowns) for the flyweight bout and her strategy secured a sixth consecutive victory (9-2 in UFC) while handing Cerminara her second straight defeat (11-6).


Mateusz Gamrot defeats Rafael dos Anjos via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Gamrot used relentless pressure and consistent takedown attempts to defeat the Brazilian veteran and improve to 7-2 in the UFC.

Kyler Phillips defeats Pedro Munhoz via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

The American Phillips makes it three wins in a row, improving to 6-1 in the UFC as he dominated practically every exchange in the bantamweight bout against Munhoz.

Philipe Lins defeats Ion Cutelaba via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

After nearly a year since his last fight, the rust appeared to get the best of Cutelaba, as Lins battered the Moldovian with leg kicks the entire bout and was able to walk out with his fourth consecutive win.

Michel Pereira defeats Michal Oleksiejczuk via Submission, 1:01 in Round 1

Pereira wasted no time dispatching his middleweight opponent, unloading on Oleksiejczuk with a knee to the body before taking him down and finishing the bout with a rear-naked choke, picking up his seventh straight victory.

Robelis Despaigne defeats Josh Parisian via KO, 0:18 in Round 1

The Cuban heavyweight and Olympic medalist lived up to the hype in his UFC debut as Despaigne came out head-hunting and was able to secure the second-fastest finish by a debuting heavyweight, making it his fifth first-round finish through five mixed martial arts contests.

Asu Almabaev defeats CJ Vergara via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Almabaev remains undefeated in the UFC (2-0) as the Kazakhstani flyweight dominated the fight thanks to his elite grappling work.

Joanne Wood defeats Maryna Moroz via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

After losing her last three contests, the Scottish flyweight was able to end her UFC career on a high note, picking up a victory over Moroz and ending her tenure with a 9-8 record (17-8 overall).
