UFC 307 is scheduled to take place Oct. 5 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The organization made an official announcement Thursday, while simultaneously announcing ticket sale information.
Sportsnet’s Aaron Bronsteter reported earlier this year a pay-per-view event would likely take place in Salt Lake City in October. He also broke the news that Raquel Pennington vs. Julianna Pena was being targeted for the event.
The UFC has not officially announced any fights for the UFC 307 card but the women’s bantamweight division figures to be featured.
In addition to the proposed Pennington vs. Pena 135-pound championship matchup – Pennington won the vacant title in January and Pena is a former champion – Kayla Harrison is expected to face Ketlen Vieira in a bout Harrison confirmed for Oct. 5.
A featherweight matchup between unbeaten Movsar Evloev and former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is also expected to be slotted on the main card.
Former two-time UFC strawweight champ Carla Esparza announced she will compete in the UFC for the final time on Oct. 5 in a retirement bout against Tecia Pennington, the wife of Raquel Pennington.
Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will take on rising talent Mario Bautista, while Chris Curtis will face Kevin Holland in a middleweight contest.
This will be the fourth UFC event held in the state of Utah. The first was a small scale Fight Night in 2016. The two most recent were UFC 278: Usman vs. Edwards 2 in 2022, and UFC 291: Poirier vs. Gaethje 2 for the BMF Title one year ago.
