UFC announces return to Abu Dhabi for Fight Night event in July

The UFC is returning to Abu Dhabi in the summer.

Etihad Arena will play host to a UFC Fight Night event scheduled for July 26, the organization announced Thursday.

This will mark the ninth UFC event held at the Etihad Arena, which opened in 2021. No matchups for the card have been announced.

The UFC held two events in Abu Dhabi in 2024. First a Fight Night card in August that was headlined by Umar Nurmagomedov defeating Cory Sandhagen in a No. 1 contender’s bout in the bantamweight division.

Then UFC 308 took place there in October. That card featured Ilia Topuria knocking out Max Holloway to defend the featherweight title in the main event, plus Khamzat Chimaev stayed undefeated by submitting former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in the co-main event.

The UFC has hosted 20 total events in Abu Dhabi since 2010, only three of which took place before 2020.
