Nate Diaz is no stranger to being involved in public melees, specifically in the state of Nevada.
Not only did the former UFC superstar cause a stir earlier this month when he threw a bottle at a rival group of fighters at the UFC 310 ceremonial weigh-ins, he is now facing a misdemeanour battery charge stemming from an incident that took place in the summer at a Las Vegas nightclub.
The 39-year-old native of Stockton, Calif., was allegedly the aggressor and put his hands on a member of the security team at Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in an August incident that was captured on camera, according to a police report that was first reported by TMZ Sports.
Diaz, currently a free agent who has not fought in the UFC since 2022, has not released a statement regarding the investigation which is ongoing.
TSARUKYAN BRINGS IN SECRET WEAPON
Arman Tsarukyan is going all out in his preparations for his upcoming UFC 311 lightweight title matchup with champion Islam Makhachev in January.
Tsarukyan has been training with former UFC lightweight Adriano Martins, who is best known for being the lone fighter to defeat Makhachev in mixed martial arts competition. Martins knocked out Makhachev in 2015.
The reigning 155-pound champion has won 14 consecutive fights since being knocked out in under two minutes back at UFC 192 in what was his second UFC appearance.
One of his wins since being ousted from the ranks of the unbeaten was a three-round unanimous decision over Tsarukyan in 2019 in what was Tsarukyan’s UFC debut. The bout was awarded Fight of the Night. Tsarukyan is 9-1 since losing to Makhachev and is coming off a win over former champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 300.
