Demetrious Johnson is walking away from mixed martial arts.
The former UFC Flyweight champion announced his retirement from MMA at the ONE Championship event in Denver.
Regarded as one of the top MMA fighters, the 38-year-old finished his career with a pro record of 25-4-1. During his time in the UFC, Johnson set the record for the most consecutive title defences by retaining the flyweight title 11 straight times from 2012-2018.
ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong said that Johnson will be the first inductee into the ONE Hall of Fame. Johnson might still compete in jiu-jitsu for ONE.
Johnson left the UFC in 2018 when he was traded to ONE for Ben Askren in a historic deal between major promotions.
