Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar named to UFC Hall of Fame class of 2024

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar was named to the UFC Hall of Fame class of 2024 on Saturday during UFC 297 in Toronto.

Edgar will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s “Modern Wing” and the official induction ceremony will take place this summer.

“Frankie Edgar is one of the greatest athletes in UFC history,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a statement. “Frankie had an amazing career and consistently fought the best athletes in the world across multiple weight classes for more than 15 years. He is a legend, and it will be an honour to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of International Fight Week this summer.”

Edgar finished with a 23-11-1 record over his 17-year career. His 21 wins included victories included victories over UFC Hall of Famers BJ Penn, Urijah Faber, and Cub Swanson.

Edgar enters the UFC Hall of Fame with an impressive resume that includes:

• Second in total Octagon fight time in UFC history – 7:57:10 (first at time of retirement).

• Tied for second-most Fight of the Night bonuses in UFC history – eight.

• Third-most significant strikes landed in UFC history – 1,801 (second at time of retirement).

• Sixth in takedowns landed in UFC history – 73 (fourth at time of retirement).

• Sixth in championship fight time in UFC history – 3:38:54.
