Jean Silva returns to face Drew Dober just two weeks after UFC 303 win

Jean Silva wants to keep the good times going after his win last Saturday.

The Brazilian featherweight is making a quick turnaround to get back into the octagon and take on Drew Dober just two weeks after beating Canadian Charles Jourdain at UFC 303.

Silva, 27, knocked out Jourdain with a wicked uppercut in the second round, bringing his pro-MMA record to 13-2-0 and a clean 2-0 since joining UFC.

He’s got a serious knack for ending this quickly, winning 10 of his fights via knockout and submitting his opponents in two more. That prowess in the standup game, and quick finishing style, may contribute to his desire to get right back into the octagon without a second to catch his breath.

The fight is set to take place at UFC Denver, with a big-time women’s flyweight bout between Rose Namajunas and Tracy Cortez headlining the event.

The setting might not play into Silva’s favour though, as Dober, a veteran of 23 fights in UFC, should get a home-court bump fighting in his native Denver.

Dober, 35, is set to throw out the first pitch at the Colorado Rockies game on Wednesday night and then sign his newest UFC contract right after. A big day for the Denverite.

He is 13-9-1 since joining the promotion in 2011 but is 4-2 in his last six fights. Most recently, he lost to Renato Moicano in a co-main event at a UFC Fight Night in February.
