A heavyweight bout between Jhonata Diniz and Marcin Tybura has been added to the upcoming UFC 309 card on Nov. 16.
The UFC announced the matchup Saturday night during the broadcast for UFC Edmonton, on which Diniz was supposed to compete.
Diniz was originally scheduled to face Derrick Lewis on the main card in Edmonton, however the bout was cancelled less than 24 hours before the event when Lewis withdrew due to an undisclosed illness unrelated to his weight cut on Friday.
The Brazilian kickboxer was rebooked for Madison Square Garrden against Tybura. The 38-year-old from Poland is the No. 9-ranked heavyweight contender currently.
Diniz, 33, is unranked with a 2-0 UFC record.
UFC 309 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between current champion Jon Jones and former longtime champ Stipe Miocic.
